FREMONT, CA: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) highlights on its recent addition, Food Safety Modernization Act(FSMA) aiming to modernize the U.S. food system. The emerging innovation, IoT technology will support FSMA in this mission. The sensors connected will monitor food production conditions, shipping time and temperature measurement. Since temperature is a component in keeping food safe, the sensors will keep constant look over the environment conditions and quality of the food. The following digital print will help the companies to take adequate measurements in maintaining the quality of food. For instance, if a food company is shipping their products, there will be constant tab on temperature and light exposure factors and if the products reach rotten or damaged, the company can trace back the data to figure out the mistake.
FSMA will require apt equipments, to adhere along with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) regulations and report on all steps associated with HACCP compliance. HACCP supports checklist delivery, with instant transmit of data over the internet. These devices will require the workers to inspect and verify it. This information will be delivered to companies through cloud technology.
With adoption of such technology food supply companies can now universally track the whereabouts and quality of all their products and make delivery system simpler.
