Kanopy introduces a dozen Spanish-language videos from Sesame Workshop and 30 films from Highlights to Kanopy Kids.
FREMONT, CA: Fifty percent of public libraries assume it is their duty offer their local K-12 schools with streaming films that complement their curriculum, according to a soon-to-be-released Kanopy survey of more than 730 librarians mainly in the U.S. Nonetheless, just over 14 percentage state they are actively partnering with local schools to achieve their goals.
Kanopy is introducing several Spanish-language videos from Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind Sesame Street, and 30 films from Highlights to Kanopy Kids to promote communication between public libraries and the communities they represent. Such a carefully curated series now contains an increasing assortment of more than 1,500 instructional, age-appropriate parental control videos covering STEM subjects to history and storytime.
“Parents, educators and librarians know that having access to quality content is important,” said Darryl Eschete, Director of the West Des Moines Public Library. “The educational and instructional films that Kanopy offers helps our library make sure that we meet the strategic goal of supporting education and making content appropriate to all grade levels accessible wherever our patrons are.”
The latest collection of Spanish-language videos from Sesame Workshop, approved by libraries and free to children, families, and anyone with a public library card, includes Listos a Jugar, a series intended to help children develop healthy habits, starring Elmo and friends as they eat, run, and play healthy! In the series, sample titles include:

The new video collections from Highlights covering subjects like creativity, family bonding, and adventure stories include:
